Tawakkaltu Ala Allah (تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ)
“Tawakkaltu ‘ala Allah” means “I place my trust in Allah.” It is a phrase of spiritual surrender, reflecting the believer’s reliance on Allah for all outcomes, while still making sincere effort.
In the Qur’an, it is emphasized in verses such as:
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
(Surah At-Talaq 65:3)
“Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.”
(Surah Al-Imran 3:173)
Tawakkul (reliance) does not mean passivity; it means doing your part and leaving the results to Allah with full trust. The phrase is often recited:
Before traveling
When making decisions
In moments of fear or uncertainty
It brings peace, protection, and reminds the heart that true control belongs to Allah alone.
