La ilaha illallah (لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ)
“La ilaha illallah” means “There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.”
It is the foundation of Islamic belief, encapsulating the concept of Tawheed (monotheism) — the oneness of God. This phrase is the first part of the Shahada, the testimony of faith that enters a person into Islam.
“Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadur rasulullah.”
It declares that no power, being, or object is worthy of worship or authority except Allah.
It is recited regularly in daily prayers, remembrance (dhikr), and especially encouraged at the moment of death. Considered the greatest declaration, it brings spiritual peace and erases sins when said with sincerity.
