Fatiha

Surah Al-Fatiha (الفاتحة)

Surah Al-Fatiha is the opening chapter of the Qur’an, consisting of 7 verses. It is recited in every unit (rak’ah) of Muslim prayer and is considered the essence of the entire Qur’an.
The word “Fatiha” means “the Opening.” It includes praise of Allah, acknowledgment of servitude, and a supplication for guidance on the straight path.

“Guide us to the Straight Path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your grace…”

It is also known as “Umm al-Qur’an” (Mother of the Qur’an) and is often recited for healing, protection, and spiritual blessing. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described it as a cure for the soul and body.
