Allahu Akbar (الله أكبر)
Allahu Akbar means “Allah is the Greatest.” It is one of the most frequently used phrases in Islam, present in daily prayers (salah), the call to prayer (adhan), and major rituals like Eid and sacrifice. It affirms the absolute greatness and supremacy of God over all creation. Muslims say it in moments of joy, difficulty, or awe, as a reminder that no matter what happens, Allah is greater than all things. It fosters humility, surrender, and spiritual focus.
